Defining titles of civility (politeness)

Within the software, you can define the titles of courtesies that will be used in contact records or in your communications. These titles are usually already set up when you start using the software, but you can translate them if necessary, or add other terms as required.

This guide explains how to add or translate a title.

1.1. Main language

Below you’ll find explanations for each numbered red frame in this image.

1. Assign a code to the title (e.g. “01”). The choice of coding depends on your company’s internal organization;

2. Select language ;

3. Add title abbreviation (“Mr.”, “Mrs.”, etc.);

4. Add title wording (“Sir”, “Madam”, etc.);

5. Optional: You can associate a calling formula with the title (“Dear Sir”, “Hello Madam”, etc.), which will be used in communications with contacts to whom this title is assigned;

6. Click on “Add”.

1.2. Translation

If required, you can also translate a title into other languages. To do this :

1. Click on “Add another language” below the title you wish to translate;

2. Select the translation language ;

3. Add the abbreviation in the corresponding language;

4. Add the wording in the corresponding language;

5. Optional: Add a calling formula in the corresponding language;

6. Click on “Save”.

You can repeat this operation for several languages.
